Fitted new fuel filter (old one was nasty) i couldn't really blow through the old one -= new ones in and now not leaking

also i've got a plan and execution tactic for a re-positioned MAF sensor... it may be ready for the Santa Pod outing on Sunday...!?

installed a "chipped" ex-police ECU and removed a little more sound deadening

tomorrow i'll be installing the light weight doors/hatch ready for the Drag strip...

also fitted some budget bodged bonnet pins (bolt and wing nut with large washer) as i dont trust my bent front end above 70mph.

i hope to beat 15.7sec's at terminal speed of 88mph...!

so another day with only 3kiddies meant i got the chance to give them some paperwork and other jobs to do whilst i did some bits on the cosworth...

firstly fix a gap in one of my dodgey joins on my exhaust then fit my new Vectra Injectors!!!!

Phelgm chamber off / air box and MAF etc off first obviously

A quick conparisan - looked ok to me

Hummmm why wont it go back together...

Turns out the Vectra injecors are 17.75mm (at widest point) and the Orignals are 16mm

therefore

it fouls the inlet trumpet/manifoldy thingy

AHHHHHHHH!

So i filed them down to 16mm

DONE!

all in and on Jobs a guden... i must stress you habe to by heavy(ish) handed but never hammer or force them into position.

sitting back together...

fit 3x injecors on the rail on one side then fit 3x injectors into the inlet trumpets then assemble from front (nearest bumper) to rear (nearest windscreen)

back together only a few casualties of war...

look nice under there hey

and old ones ready for cleaning and replace some nasty looking ones i have on a different 24v engine!

and managed to find these somewhere for a bargain price!!

will definately have the rear dampers on mine as i need my rear stiffening up....

the above sentence should read:

all in and on, the jobs a good one... i must stress you have to be a little heavy(ish) handed but, never hammer or force them into position.

not:

quote:
all in and on Jobs a guden... i must stress you habe to by heavy(ish) handed but never hammer or force them into position.

thanks for reading - Van project is only 2 days away!

X member out

New one (thanks paul tacked in to level it all up

Hum not quite straight

Hydraulic pushy out wquipment used to get it straight(er)

In place

Slam panel cut out

Careful around where lights will go back in

Tacked in and bonnet fitted

Slam panel needed grinding out and re-aligning for “best fit”
Bolt snapped in head light retaining nut so a bolt was welded in

Lights in bonnet down bumper on

Needing cleaning

Done

After having a little drive it really feels nice and solid again

went to "trax" at silverstone on sunday and did a 0-60 - i did a 8.51 in the rain and then the sun came out and i achieved a 6.84

i was very pleased
