Air con on Mk1 Granada
There was a Mk1 Ghia for sale on eBay recently that had air con fitted. This was a genuine factory option (SVO 6012) available on the Ghia coup? and 3000cc Ghia saloon.
Has anyone in this forum got / had / seen a Mk1 with air con fitted ?

yep, i've seen a mk1 saloon with aircon. i've got some photos somewhere (amongst the million others). i'll have a look sometiome and if i can find them, scan them and post on this site i will. don't hold your breath.....

Hi, I cant give any technical details and not sure if I have any pictures knocking about but my Mk1 Ghia had built in air con. I tried to find out from the local Ford dealer who could service it for me. He was adamant that NO mk1's had air con until I took him out and showed him the unit. It was a Borg Warner unit with a wonderful amount of chrome coloured plastic on the grill and knobs.He made enquiry of Fords who told us it was a "special" so must have been ordered from the factory by a dealer. If I remember correctly it was circa 1981/2 and the weather didnt warrant the cost quoted (about ?100) to service it. boy I loved that car but part exchanged it for an Opel Monza after the 3rd head gasket in 6 months......sorry everybody !!

Ian Turner in Queensland installed factory air in his early Mk 1 estate by robbing a setup from a wrecked South African car. I think he is registered on here as tymkey.
